Pretty sad about Rab. He was basically in a no win situation. He had to not only follow a legend, but one that had been here forever. He got UTEPs name out there by recruited good players. Haskins just had his dumbass assistants go out and recruit JUCOs. Sad to see him go, but sex is the undisputed champ of the world. Too bad he couldn't keep his pants on. Who knows how the program might have been different if he would have coached that 02-03 team? Would he have been fired after? Would BG still have been available?

Miners keep on winning. UTSA is not very good, but considering how things have turned out for the Miners this year, a win is a win.
Attendance was 8,692
UTSA has drawn 7,893 combined for their 10 home games this season!
UTEP has no business being in a league with this caliber a basketball team. Awful arena, awful support, awful team. "Fans" here complain about getting 6,000. UTEP is lucky that they get more than that.

Pretty impressed by UTEP beating both MTSU and UAB away from the Don. Nice job. A lot of fans are upset about the road games not being televised. Big deal, been that way for many years now. I'm used to it. Nothing we can do will get them on tv. Their next road game is actually on TV, the ECU will game will be on FoxSports1.
Same people are wanting fans to sell out the Don for UTSA. It's a 2pm start, good luck with that. Apparently to accommodate the game being on the regionally available Comcast Sports Net. Good job agreeing to that one Bob! UTEP is apparently going to sit back and let suckers buy tickets, like always. No imagination, no promotion, no care in the world. Take a look at what SMU is doing!

Losing this game is an embarrassment. Spare me the "it doesn't count crap". UTEP should never be losing to D2 schools. Yeah I know he didn't play some guys and treated it as a nothing game. That just goes to show you what Floyd and Stull think of their ticket buyers. They don't give a shit. They knowingly put out a sorry product and expect us to keep going back.
UTEP owes it season tickets holders and fans an apology. Do you think any fan is excited about buying tickets to the Charlotte game on Thursday? Or any other game the rest of the season? Losing games like this cost UTEP money, but that's okay with Bob Stull. Tim Floyd will get to coach here as long as he wants with no accountability for anything he does.
Meanwhile, SDSU is a national power and just beat Kansas in Lawrence. UTEP can't even play true road games against Top teams, let alone schedule or beat them. I remember watching UTEP-SDSU games in the 90s at their crappy gym in front of nobody. Now, UTEP is a nothing program and SDSU plays on TV and wins games.
We need Bob Stull and Tim Floyd gone. Stop accepting this mediocre product and start expecting more!

JeepJackson22: "Although I thought we'd be much further along by now, you also have to remember that Floyd is actually trying to "BUILD" something here and not just using this as a launching pad to get to his next big gig as the others have done, so, major differences in approach that need to be factored in."
My response: The same Tim Floyd that tried to get the USC job? What is he trying to build? Tony Barbee did an excellent job of showing improvement, both in wins and player development. Who has improved under Floyd a great deal? How have the Miners improved on the court and in the win column since he has been coach?
PURPLEFIRE: "Utep fans are never happy and the proof is simple....utep won a few games and maybe two threads opened up in here with a few responses...utep loses to New Orleans and the floodgates open..."
My response: We are 3-5 vs D1 competition, with wins over Tennessee, Colorado St, and Sacramento St. Plus 2 wins over garbage schools. The Tennessee win is good, but it was followed by a blowout to Iowa and a lost opportunity to Kansas. Why should Miner fans be excited over a team that can't even beat UNO? UTEP always comes up short when they have an "important" game and to make matters worse, they blow games they should win!
picks up: "Yes the bottom is bad thats not news but as far as recruiting I disagree.
Vince Hunter was stolen from the Big 10 Matt Willms was stolen from the SEC Julian Washburn was stolen from the Big 12 John Bohannan was stolen from the Big 12 McKenzie Moore was originally supposed to go to UCONN
2014 signees (assuming they make it on campus):
Chris Sandifer was a Missouri commit who could have gone to Pac 12 school once he decommited but signed with UTEP Omega Harris was stolen from the Big 12
Recruits will come. Have some faith "
My response: Here's another moron who thinks recruiting matters. All those guys might have been "stolen", but they're here with a 5-5 record. Has Bo improved to your satisfaction since his freshman year? What about Washburn? He puts up a ton of bricks. Moore is a good player, but apparently he has "discipline issues". I like Hunter and Wilms and think they can be good players, but they're freshman and probably won't be here for 4 years since Floyd has a revolving door.
It's idiots like these 3 that make me upset. They don't know anything about anything and think that cheering harder and more often is the solution. The solution is holding the damn coach responsible. Since he's linked to Don Haskins, he gets a free pass and can coach here forever with no accountability.
At the UNO game they honored Kevin Hill and not to slight Kevin, but he averaged 8pts and 4rebs a game. Since when is that worthy of being honored? Maybe Floyd and UTEP should stick to honoring people that were really great players. What about Antonie Gillespie? I would honor Roy Smallwood and Ralph Davis before Kevin Hill.

I went to the Sac St game and to the game tonight, and I have not seen a loss this bad in a long time. Even without Moore and Crosgile, UTEP should not be losing to UNO, any time or anywhere!
UNO had not won a road game in 2 years! They dropped to D3 a few years ago and reversed that decision! How can you beat Tennessee, but lose to this squad?
All Tim Floyd has done is recruit a bunch of players that don't qualify, has others transfer quick, and the ones he keeps aren't that much better. Why would anyone think this team is an NCAA Tournament team?
LOL @ all the losers who thought we were going to win 30 games. You don't know shit! Never have, never will.

Well, the Miners will be playing Kansas for the first time in 21 years tomorrow. After KU wins by 40, I can't wait to read all the stupid posts saying "At least we won when it counted", "still beat them 21 years ago!"
UTEP hasn't accomplished anything in the last 21 years, while Kansas has won a National Championship and won tons of relevant games.

Thank you guys for either posting or lurking over the last few years. I am going through some personal issues and I will not be posting here anymore, maybe not even looking. The few of you left are more than welcome to continue posting if you wish. I need to focus my time on other things and I look forward to hopefully a better era of UTEP football and great success in UTEP basketball.
