Here is to hoping the hot streak continues and we see another Miner victory tonight. Go Miners. True that. The Miners can't afford to lose at home tonight. Tulsa owns UTEP historically, I think the crowd will put the Miners over the top tonight. Thanks for joining, hope you'll continue to stop by.

Fans are going to the games again because UTEP is actually beating good teams. IF they drop a game to a losing team, you'll see the mediocre attendance show up again. I think the ECU and Rice games could be tough sells at the gate, but if they keep winning, sellouts are possible.

Ever wondered what happened to former Miner basketball players? Dale Vanwright is currently at LeTourneau University in Longview, TX Franklin Jones didn't do much of anything at Mercyhurst or Mountain State Chano Rashiduddin is currently at Indian Hills CC Jason Jones is currently sitting out at Middle Tennessee Blaise Ffrench is currently sitting out at St. Peter's Maurice Thomas and Malik Alvin did not return for their Senior seasons at St. Bonaventure and Binghamton. Not sure if they ended up anywhere. I can still remember, when it was announced Franklin Jones had signed with Utep and gibbi wrote a post saying Utep found its next great center...
I was able to rub that in his face for years...
Ahhhh... Good times.
I still think Vanwright, Malik Alvin and Grease Thomas would have contributed heavily to the Miners had Barbie not run them off.
One has to wonder why the Coach gets so anal. Yeah and he also thought Chano was going to be a force too. That's why his posts are worthless.

If UTEP loses this game, Barbee really is a shitty coach. UTEP should beat Houston and make Saturdays Tulsa game even bigger!

Only 7700 in attendance last night. Tulane sucks so bad at both football and basketball, they don't bring anything to the table. Empty arenas, bad teams, no national name. What makes it even worse is that UTEP lost to them in football. Pathetic.
Local TV for Saturdays game. Next Wednesday's game vs Houston is on CBS College Sports and Saturday's game vs Tulsa is on ESPN2. I know TU is an 8PM start, pretty sure UH game is too. How will the games being on TV affect our attendance. I say a shade above 8,000 for Houston and depending on how they play, aka if they win, the Tulsa game has a good shot at over 10,000.

According to one of my sources, Texas and UTEP will play each other in football in the near future. More details, when I have them

I thought the Miners played really well. If they play like this, they could win the CUSA regular season crown, too bad they would still need to win the tournament to get into the NCAAs.

To answer your questions:

Nope
Tried to get something more "catchy", but could not
NO banishment or censorship. Cheerleading is welcome, but complaining against "trolls" is not.

Read here: utepathletics.cstv.com/sports/m-baskbl/spec-rel/010810aaa.htmlI think it's pretty sad that some games on even on this list? The Oklahoma game? This years NMSU game? Really?!? A blowout win vs Rutgers at #5? Games against a Marshall squad that finished 12-16 that year and a game against Southern Miss that finished 10-21? Come on! Those might have been OT games, but only the most hardcore Miner fans would ever remember games against crap teams like that. What do you guys think?
