This type of thing is fine. Feel free to bump it when needed. Thanks man. I try not to post things like this online too often.

Mods, if this is inappropriate or not allowed here, please feel free to delete this post. I also apologize to anyone in advance if this sort of request/thread offends you for any reason. I have been posting similar threads at most of the forums I frequent. I am taking part in a MDA fundraiser. They do a pseudo lock up and I have to try and raise "bail". Of course, bail being a donation to the MDA. This year we can accept online donations, which is much better for me as I am a lousy salesman and even worst at asking people for help and/or donations. So if you have extra dollar or two, please consider donating to the MDA. If you click on the link, and then on the donate button, there are some pretty steep donation recommendations. There is a blank one at the bottom where you can enter your donation. Like I said, if you have a couple dollars to spare, perhaps you would consider donating it here. Also, I have been told that money donated from my link will stay in El Paso. www.joinmda.org/MyLockup/MyHomepage/tabid/137815/Participant/cpr915training/Default.aspxIf no one objects, I may bump this once or twice as the deadline gets closer. This forum should be fairly busy with new threads as we in the middle of the conference tourny.

In basketball, I think there is a chance he will stay. At least a chance. In basketball, you play it out. Look at Memphis. Look at UNLV. You don't have to be in a power conference to play for the championship. The same is not true in football. Look at TCU and Boise St. So there is at least a chance. A good chance? I dont know.

Great video. Thanks for sharing. I can't believe the noise level... and this is AFTER the game has ended !!
Realm is truly envious of you and uncle doug being present at the Don last night.
Realm... Actually, this was well after CTB addressed the crowd and after the trophy was presented to the Miners. That is how hyped up the crowd was. The game had been over for quite some time when the crowd rushed the floor.

In my opinion only...
There is a few (more) bucks to be made if players and coaches leave next season. There is a pot of gold to be claimed if they all stay around another year (or two in Moultrie's case).
Look at Sadler and Gillespie - Barbee should follow his mentor's lead and wait until the really big offer comes in - and not skip town at the first sign of a pay raise.
Caracter is good but Strelz already made all the proper points. He needs another year. Moultrie? He needs both his Junior and Senior seasons.

I am glad we are not ending the season with two cupcakes. Time to bring your A Game till the very end. Playing a cupcake before the CUSA tournament might have put them in a lazy haze.

LOL, nah, I know where you are coming from. No need to worry about that my friend. I was just saying, even where I stand, I can't feel confident the way the selection process works right now.

Confident? No. Not even a cheerleader like myself feels confident. Like I was saying in another thread, in a fair world, winning the regular season title and making it to the conference tournament finals should be enough. I would not be confident about it though. Not at all.

I don't know about that Binks. Two would be fair to CUSA. Who is your third team, Memphis? Their two best non-conference wins are over Oakland and IUPUI. They did play Kansas tough though, but they also lost to SMU and Houston. There is no way CUSA will get or deserves 3. That is sort of my point. No rpi, no power conferences, just the best 65 teams. I think Memphis gets in. In the real world, with power conferences, rpi etc, no - they don't get in.

In a fair scenario, CUSA is a three bid conference this year. Things aren't fair though. Conference tournaments aside, the best 65 teams don't go to the dance.

I am also thinking about a ten point game. I think it will be a little lower though. 68-58. That or it is going to be a blow out and a high score like the ECU game.

Congrats to the Miners! I wonder what triggers the ban button over there? While a cheerleader, I have mentioned this site and have backed up the opinions of banned members. I guess you guys are just bad apples!

I fall under the "cheerleader" side of things and none of the guys here have had a problem with that. Any Miner chat is good chat.

Realm can't argue with Mr. Mista... you were right... Realm was DEAD WRONG. I wouldn't say you were wrong about anything. You had your opinions about the officiating in the El Paso game. I had my opinions about what would happen if the situation was reversed. Its all good as the Miners got a victory on the road.

Realm and I had a little discussion in another thread about the officiating in the first UTEP-Tulsa game. This was the flip side of the UTEP-Tulsa game in El Paso as Tulsa got a lot of favorable calls today. Unlike Tulsa in El Paso, UTEP didn't fold in Tulsa. The second half wasn't pretty but they kept the lead and got the win. There is no reason to breakdown when the calls don't go your way.

agreed, huge road win, but will he vote for UTEP in the coaches poll? interesting to say the least.

I don't think there is a conference team that I am not afraid to see in the conference tournament.

I don't have a problem with that. I also don't consider the win tainted. We have been the victim of the referees becoming too involved in games in the past. A good coach and a good team will find a way to adjust. Sometimes UTEP did and sometimes UTEP didn't. The same could be said about Tulsa. In your book, the Miners pulled away in the second half because of the refs. In my book, Tulsa was able to be tied with the Miners in the first half because of the refs. I know Tulsa fans were in an uproar because Jordan picked up three quick fouls. I say "so what!" Are the refs not supposed to call fouls on Jordan because he is their star player? Is it the Miner's fault they have a deeper bench and can rely on other players when DC gets 2 or 3 fouls in the first half of a game and has to sit down?

Maybe because I'm looking at it through "TROLL" eyes?? Well, to be fair, I did ask for the address of the troll board to get the address to this joint. ;D

I understand I may be alone in this. I love the east coast exposure. I have friends in the Carolinas and Florida, so being in CUSA has been fun for me. Is it 100% best for UTEP? Maybe, maybe not. I have just enjoyed being able to talk UTEP sports with friends in other parts of the country that otherwise would not know much about UTEP.

Rules, however strict, don't really bother me too much. It is a huge site with far too many people making more and more rules. Blah. It is the editing and deleting that bother me. Lock a thread, or add a warning, but the editing and deleting is what bothers me. That being said, that post is an incredibly lame thing to be banned for.

Legit question (as I do not keep up with the MWC). How do they compare with CUSA from top to bottom? Obviously they have a very strong top 3 if they are in the top 25. How bad are their lower teams compared to ours?

If it was 26,000 paid, I don't see what is wrong with that number. I know last years game was extremely papered though. I think UTEP and the city need to use this as a wake up call. I know this game and UTEP are apples and oranges but everything from ticket prices to concessions need to examined and overhauled.

Regarding foul trouble, the same thing can be said of DC. He has had to sit out quite a few minutes of many first halves because of foul trouble. That is just the way it goes. It is how the other team capitalizes on the opportunity.

Great win for the Miners. Everything seem to click. The usual suspects played great but I was really impressed with our bench. Where has this version of Claude been?
