Can't hate Tяump 100%.... afterall, he is the man singlehandedly responsible for the defeat of the Republicans in the House / Senate / and Presidency. A special thank you goes to the Tяump enablers because without you... we wouldn't have this Democratic Trifecta. Tяump is not even wanted in Mar-A-Lago... so he is exploring other neighborhoods where he might be welcomed. I see you Bernie.
Today, we Mexicans on both sides of the border are holding our heads up a little bit higher... and snickering a little bit louder. We of all people know things could always be worse.
On a serious side, this site deleted my sexy avatar and gave me a good, stiff warning. These porn police would put briefs on Michaelangelo's David (check out my new avatar).
I won't be censored... especially when the avatar was NOT pornographic. I will defend My sweet Lucille against any censorship and will challenge the site police to make a business decision. Therefore, I will bring back Miss Lucille on Feb 14th... then the porn police can ban me and I'll see everybody later.
As far as the site policy ---pffft, I laugh at your foolishness.
In closing, after these last turbulent 4 years... I think it's time to be a little more tolerant and understanding... this will get us that much closer to recovery.

Timing of this video should have gone out after the New Mexico St game and Halloween but there was an extended sickness followed by a merciful Death in the family.

Been awhile. Realm's creative juices are flowing again.
D.M. Schuettee has agreed to put Realm's life... Realm's thoughts onto film.
The ONLY Artistic Director I trust to tell Realm's story.
Watch this space and Realm will reward your efforts.
This video should have gone out after the Univ of Arizona Football Fiasco... but technical difficulties made that impossible. But we have it today. Hopefully, the next one will be on time.

This thread could easily have been titled "Remembering Vince"
Realm is NOT surprised to hear Vince Hunter is leaving Utep to go Pro. Personally, Realm thinks it is a Good Move for Vince's career.
Been a bad month for Miner fans.

Realm is also taken back with the details of Rab's demise. Like most people... we have an angel on one shoulder AND a devil on the other.
Who you listen to most... will set you on the path you're supposed to follow in life.
Bleed... Much Thanks for posting this interesting tidbit.
Realm's brother is currently slumming through Vietnam... having watched Anthony Bourdain speak very highly of Vietnam... he decided to visit and he sent this email a couple of days ago. Family and Friends.. I'm currently in Vietnam, in the city of Hue on the banks of the Perfume river. Hue was the capital of the Nguyen emperors. The Imperial Citadel (a World Heritage Site) encloses the emperor's residence, temples and palaces. Today much of it is in ruins. What's left is only a fraction of the original. Most of the buildings were badly bombed during the French and American wars. Only 20 of the 148 buildings survived. What is left is still impressive. Vietnam is a long narrow country, which involves overnight travel by bus. Fortunately, most of the long distance buses are sleeper buses (a 2-tier bunk bed type setup). In two days, I'll be in Hanoi (12 hours by bus). Both Cambodia and Vietnam have an incredible number of motorcycles. Motorcycles park on the sidewalk, which makes walking around the city sometimes difficult. You don't see many cars on the road (5% cars, 95% motorcycles), which is good since most of the city streets are narrow with no room to park a car. I wouldn't exactly call Vietnam and Cambodia walking friendly countries. One of the big surprises on my trip so far is the different foods I have been eating. Going in, I thought Thailand would be the high-lite of my culinary experience. I was surprise to find that I liked Cambodian food even more. Cambodia uses a delicious ginger sauce on many of their foods. Vietnamese food is also a great experience. Each city, seems to have it's own local foods. In other words, the delicious street food you had in Hoi An isn't made in Hue (only 6 hours away). Nice people in Vietnam, when they find out your American they smile and we share a conversation. It's not unusual to find out they have relatives in the States, mostly in California.

A week's BYE and only 6,344 bothered to show up for this game ?!?
I would imagine the only good thing about having a sparse crowd... not too many people are questioning why they keep buying UTEP season tickets.
Who needs the aggravation, right ??
Although we only lost by 2 points (71-69), I expected Utep to win handily after having a week's rest. Univ New Orleans, where Floyd coached for 6 seasons and had an impressive 126 - 59 record, had not won an away game in a couple of years.
Hmmm... maybe Coach Floyd was giving back to a University that had been hit so hard by Katrina.
But was this an upset??
Nope, I gotta believe the BEST team won.
The Miners have yet to impress me in 4 years... but the Tennessee game though was close...
Cheerleaders can kick you off their message boards... they can argue incessantly without logic... but in the end they have nothing left to say.

Football tanked this year under Coach Kugler... but he gets a 3 year pass from me because he's new and needs time to get his guys and his system in.
Having said that... I am a little concerned about his MY WAY OR THE HIGHWAY approach. I hope he learns to give his guys some slack while he pushes through his discipline agenda.
Coach Floyd is in his 4th year and the Miners currently have a 5-5 record. Although I didn't think this team would contend in the CUSA chase.... I certainly didn't think it would be this bad.
I dunno what to think.
I read MM post about Floyd being garbage and at first read I didn't agree... but then when I look at the team's record the last 3 years... I have to wonder where's the expected progress under Floyd??
I honestly don't see it... so I gotta agree with MM's opinion.
I have to agree with you Bleed... it's TOUGH being a Miner fan.

Yeah, I noticed you and Music were MIA for over a week and I got the feeling Little Rigor Mortis had done his job as the new mod.
I am a little surprised to see you get banned this time because I could see you were trying really, really hard to add to the conversation.
I guess when your favorite fooball team is 1-8, a sports message board hasn't got much in the way of understanding or patience.
I know its not much in the way of consolation... but the stuff you were posting in Digs still rings true.
AND THEY REALLY DON"T LIKE THAT... BAD FOR BOARD MORALE YOU SEE
But thanks to people like you... If the football is crap then I hope to see fans express themselves like this at the Sun Bowl.

Apparently no one at the E P Times, Digs or the Den. Everyone talks about the tragedy of losing Thomas Howard.
But no one talks about his recklessness at driving his BMW at 100-110 in the 3 lane(not the fast lane… but the 3 lane) where he clipped the back of a big rig that sent him over the freeway mid barrier and into on-coming traffic.
Poor Mr Liu thought he was going home… guess he should feel special that he is somehow tied to the foolishness that Thomas Howard chose for that night.
But lets not let facts get in the way of expressing our sorrow for Mr. Howard’s passing.
Realm’s sympathies go to the families of Mr. Liu.
Way to finish your career Thomas...

But Bleed,
Don't let that stop you from posting. Your posts make for some pretty good reading and stand on their own. I come by every day hoping something has been posted.
Me... I just need time to recoup my desire to start posting again.
To get things started... initially I thought the football team would score about 4 wins this year... not because we're any good... but because we have a plethora of light-weights on our schedule.
I had us winning the New Mexico game BUT that didn't turn out the way I thought it would go... so I guess now I'm down to 3 wins for the team this year.
Despite my early prediction of only 4 wins... I still think Coach Kugler is the RIGHT man for the job... what we're seeing is the TRUE COST of having Mike Price overstay his welcome as coach.
Speaking of the RIGHT man for the job.... wonder if MinerMan will come by and clean out the spam... or send us a message with the passwords to do the clean-up.
Realm... BTW... the Government Shutdown is forcing Realm to come up with survival strategies to weather the storm...

"The message board has been a ghost town lately..." Very True Bleed. Our board doesn't have many posters on it and that usually spells a death sentence.
Sadly One, two or three posters are not enough to keep a message board going. I wish I could be more optimistic but being the REALIST that I am... I can't.
But the news is not all glum. This board accomplished its mission: to provide a forum where free speech is protected & encouraged AND to push for an end to the football mediocrity that was Mike Price.
MinerMan has a lot to be proud of.
Lastly... I want to leave you all with a word of warning... beware of anyone who looks you in the eye and tells you all of Utep's worries are over....

Sorry to hear this MinerMan.
It looked like a lot of Digs was embracing your presence and opinions.
I had great hopes because unsubstantiated cheer leading is frowned upon even in Digs and I think this is a sign that you're finally getting thru their thick heads.
I am still puzzled what it was exactly that got you banned??
Regardless... I expect to see you dust yourself off and adopt a NEW moniker and start posting again.

I gave an early assessment of the Miner basketball team and haven't had the urge to follow them since.
I'm at work but got half time score from a friend. What would have surprised me is if we could hang close to USM. Their record indicates they are a talented team... while the Miner record indicates we are NOT.
What surprises me is that what is so obvious to me is not so obvious to others.

Good Question Bleed...
Can't be injuries because this funk seems to be affecting the whole team.
It could be a low team morale... That would explain Bo behaving erratically since he doesn't react well to losing.
What might cause low morale: The very tough schedule that didn't support the team's growth? Coach Floyd's inability to get his players to see his basketball point of view? Team dissention? Maybe the team doesn't have the parts needed to be succesful and they're overworked by Floyd to adapt??
I don't know... I can only tell you that my observations of this team is that I don't see a complete team and they're suffering because of it.
Streeter is NOT the point guard Utep has to have. He lacks aggressiveness. He doesn't create shots for others. Poor assist totals.
Defenses is breaking down recently?? Why are other teams suddenly running down courts before Miner's get back?? I can only notice this all started when Tucker got into the lineup.
In my opinion... We are breaking down because we don't have the necessary parts to compete. We need a Rivera (Eddie or Fili) quarterbacking this team and getting the offense to flow thru them. Get the team to WIN like a team AND they will perform like a team.

Interesting that Chris Sandle was Utep's first All-American.
He was pretty good but if I use him as the Benchmark... Then I would have thought we might have had several other All-Americans.
I never forget watching Sandle taking over the NCAA playoff game over Arizona in Tucson. What a beast.

Coach Johnson came on the radio and addressed why Bo didn't play in the game
He said that Bo is a good kid BUT needs to buy into what the coaches want done in both games and in practice. He says Bo understands that he should be a leader BUT Bo has ebbs and flows.I'm sure his poor showing during the UAB game is forcing the coaches to take a firmer stance with Bo.
When he wants to play... he can be an exciting player.

I realize there are a lot with HARD feelings but... For those interested... Realm 01/06/2013 The Philadelphia 76ers recalled rookie forward Arnett Moultrie from their NBA Development League affiliate, the Sioux Falls Skyforce, on Sunday. The 6-10 Moultrie was the 27th overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft by Miami. He was traded to Philadelphia on draft night in exchange for the draft rights to Justin Hamilton and a protected future first-round pick

Home is with the MWC... I Hope we make it happen.
Cusa-liter is a slow death the longer we stay there. But we have no one but ourselves to blame since we're so pathetic in football that conferences aren't knocking on our door WITH an invitation in hand.
Where is Jack Kavorkian when we really need him.

Oregon beat Arizona 70 - 66 in Eugene, Oregon.
Utep beat Oregon 91 - 84 in 3 OT in El Paso, Tx
Arizona beat Utep 72 - 51 in Tucson, Az.
Bleed, the ONLY thing this tells me is that playing at home... on a familiar court... without having to travel... in front of your fans... with referees calling plays in favor of the home team does seem to favor the home team most times.
Playing either of these 2 teams on a neutral court will show that Utep is the weakest of the bunch.
At every chance but one... Everytime we played a prominent team that would show how good we were.... we failed every time.
I agree Utep added some new players who have improved things... but not enough to warrant any REAL optimism.
Simply Put --We have to win the Conference Tourney to get into the NCAA... we won't get in based on our RPI when you match that up with our record.
A couple of pleasant additions... BUT I definitely don't see this team getting ready to take off...

I'm concerned that this team isn't there yet.
We have not been a good rebounding team this year AND we don't seem to have a consistent offensive threat.
Bo, Washburn and Lang have to assert themselves and take away Colorado St rebounding strength.
I agree with MinerMan, the training wheels are OFF. If they can't do it tonight then I think that is a BAD omen for any hope we have of making a dent in Cusa.
I think CSU manhandles Utep by taking away Utep's 3 point threat and daring Utep to take it to the rim. Utep's rebounding woes will continue....

Choosing a new Head Football Coach should not be based on a popularity poll.
Not when the university is footing the financial bill.
It should be based on an objective opinion on who would be best to take over the helm and bring the fans back into the Sun Bowl.
As UtepChunks correctly commented... Patterson is too closely associated with the Price debacle... and the fans will not support this decision.

The water definitely has been muddied and a course of action will have to be put on a back burner until this issue gets cleared up.
Possible for MWC to re-admit Boise & San Diego St because they haven't accepted their replacements yet.
CUSA-lite already has admitted new conference members... so re-admitting Houston, SMU, etc has a problem.
Was the fall of the Big East already foreseen by Stull?? A quote from Stull from the New Mex St. basketball game has some wondering: We always want to do what is best for the university so as things unfold we'll take a look at everything that's going on. The Big East is not going to be there, I don't know what is happening with them. So we don't really know."
