rumor has it (and it is strong) that caracter will test the waters of the nba after this season...a former nba player told me today that he should stay in school next season, lose another 15 pounds and improve his jumping ability...because right now the bigger centers are blocking many of his shots... moultrie...barbee doesn't work with him or teach him...he is sulking because last year he was the big-man...he needs to play hard and return to last years form...my source has nba championship ring

If UTEP wins a game or two in the tournament and Derrick plays well, I could see him leaving. Moultrie should stay in school. He might be a 2nd round pick and that's a maybe. I hope they both come back as well as Coach Barbee.

Who on this team isn't looking to move might be the better question??
The Coach sets the tone... and he is already mentioned in College Basketball rumors on where he'll be NEXT season.
When he goes... any hope of keeping this team together will go down the drain.
strelz, great post. GREAT insider information !!

In my opinion only...
There is a few (more) bucks to be made if players and coaches leave next season. There is a pot of gold to be claimed if they all stay around another year (or two in Moultrie's case).
Look at Sadler and Gillespie - Barbee should follow his mentor's lead and wait until the really big offer comes in - and not skip town at the first sign of a pay raise.
Caracter is good but Strelz already made all the proper points. He needs another year. Moultrie? He needs both his Junior and Senior seasons.

I think for Caracter it depends on what the draft committee tells him his draft range will be. Then he'll look at who is coming out next year. I don't know if the experts think this year or next years draft class will be better. Of all the UTEP players, he is the most NBA ready, obviously. I'm not delusional in thinking that Barbee will be around forever, but I do think that he and the boys will be back for a serious run next season. This is fun...

Realm has a BAD feeling you won't be able to recognize NEXT year's team...
