I went to the Sac St game and to the game tonight, and I have not seen a loss this bad in a long time. Even without Moore and Crosgile, UTEP should not be losing to UNO, any time or anywhere!
UNO had not won a road game in 2 years! They dropped to D3 a few years ago and reversed that decision! How can you beat Tennessee, but lose to this squad?
All Tim Floyd has done is recruit a bunch of players that don't qualify, has others transfer quick, and the ones he keeps aren't that much better. Why would anyone think this team is an NCAA Tournament team?
LOL @ all the losers who thought we were going to win 30 games. You don't know shit! Never have, never will.

A week's BYE and only 6,344 bothered to show up for this game ?!?
I would imagine the only good thing about having a sparse crowd... not too many people are questioning why they keep buying UTEP season tickets.
Who needs the aggravation, right ??
Although we only lost by 2 points (71-69), I expected Utep to win handily after having a week's rest. Univ New Orleans, where Floyd coached for 6 seasons and had an impressive 126 - 59 record, had not won an away game in a couple of years.
Hmmm... maybe Coach Floyd was giving back to a University that had been hit so hard by Katrina.
But was this an upset??
Nope, I gotta believe the BEST team won.
The Miners have yet to impress me in 4 years... but the Tennessee game though was close...
Cheerleaders can kick you off their message boards... they can argue incessantly without logic... but in the end they have nothing left to say.

Maybe calling CTF "garbage" is a bit much, but he's definitely been disappointing. I'm sure Bob Stull is working on a long contract extension as we speak!

I agree that we haven't seen as much of an improvement as I'm sure we all expected, especially in the recruiting department. From what I've seen, Floyd likes to go for big risk/high reward types of players, some of whom we're in the running to get simply because they have baggage that other schools may not want to deal with such as attitude problems (Moore, Crosgile) or academic problems (Brown, every kid we tried to get to replace Hamilton). If these players would enroll and keep their heads on straight, we'd be in much better shape. As it is, we lost a lot who didn't make the grades needed to enroll, and we've had to deal with some bad behavior by benching players like Moore and Crosgile for the UNO game (which was a major reason we lost, but I fully agree it was the right thing to do) and sitting Bohannon more than once last season. Floyd needs to get highly skilled players who will honor their commitment and then do what is necessary to actually suit up and play for us, and that hasn't happened like we thought it would. (And here, again, I'd like to say FUCK YOU, Isaac Hamilton. Fuck you so very, very much.)
All that being said, if we could just play with some consistency we just might be able to put together a solid year. As I sit here writing this, I'm pleasantly surprised by our victory at Washington State this evening. I don't know how good they are, but beating a Pac 12 team in their house, no matter which one, is more than I would have predicted this year. Let's cheer for Dr. Jekyll and hope to hell we've seen the last of Mr. Hyde...
