Glad to see some familiar faces on here again. I've been super busy and haven't checked the board, so I was surprised to see you guys posting again. I'm also in a major sports funk; my Cowboys suck (JASON GARRETT IS A FUCKING RETARD), D Rose is DONE and so are my Bulls for the foreseeable future, my Stars are close but not there yet, Miner football was.... um, well, Miner football, and now Miner basketball looks to be about as predictable as the weather.
Plus, I lost my season tickets to the bball games . My two longtime game buddies both up and moved to Austin, leaving me without a UTEP employee to buy me tickets. And frankly, I can't afford to go to all the games without the 50% off discount. So thanks to MinerMan for posting the TV schedule, cuz that and Teisch's radio call are likely the best way for me to catch games for right now.
The way I see the future of Miner basketball is an all-or-nothing situation. An at-large bid to the NCAA is a virtual impossibility, being as playing in the newly-assified CUSA is going to nuke our RPI. Therefore, our only hope is to beat the weak teams that we now have on our conference slate, and maybe win the post-season tourney since it's in our back yard. Other than that unlikely ending, I see us as a 15 to 16-win team at worst, or maybe a 19 to 20-win team if we somehow manage to find some consistency and do reasonably well in conference play. Either way, it's going to be a very unpredictable year.
Looking forward to blogging about it with you guys once again.
