Well shiver me timbers, AAA baseball is pretty much a done deal. Excited to see the Diablos and their crappy front office shown the boot.

I am excited for this! Hope the fans support. There is another rumor that they want to add an arena and a soccer stadium in that area too.

I think turning Cohen Stadium into an MLS-sized soccer stadium is in The Diablos/El Paso's best interests. If the Tiguas are dumb enough to keep the Diablos around in 2014, it will be a complete disaster. When there's a AAA team in town, why would ANYONE go to Indy ball?
I would also like to see a new Arena downtown and pull in some better concerts and events. This AAA baseball team/stadium is the start EP and Downtown needs.

I would love to see a downtown arena and an MLS team. I hope this doesn't sound racist, because I am far from it, but I think all the mexico soccer fans in this area would really support an MLS team here. I too would attend games. I just hope they pass the vote the right way in November when they vote on the soccer stadium.

I think the exact opposite. I don't see the Mexican fans supporting the MLS team unless a major Mexican star is on the team. If El Paso gets an MLS team, it will need the support of El Pasoans. I think getting an MLS is a super long shot.
