One of the arguments I had with the old board was they only wanted to discuss sports. Don't get me wrong, the focus should be about Sports... but there is so much more to the city of El Paso than sports.
Some things transcend sports.
Maybe MinerMan can create a section where we can discuss subjects not related to sports?? For example, I also have a desire to write a post about the financial situation that the U.S. currently finds itself in.
In January of 2010, Teo GarcĂa Simental, alias "El Teo", was captured in La Paz, Mexico.
Does the arrest of the head of the cartel, along with the death of his brother, signal the decline in murders in Juarez??
Juarez had 2,657 killings in 2009 making it one of the most dangerous cities in the world. How can El Pasoans find any comfort knowing that a city they once took for granted is now under seige.
All this despite the fact the Mexican Army now patrols the streets.
For me, at least, the killings in Juarez seemed to have gotten started in the past decade when over 400 women were killed... with no clear answer as to the identities of the killer(s).
What is it about Juarez, in particular, that brings out this kind of insanity??
Once again a warning that the following pics are very graphic...www.elpasotimes.com/ci_14163310
