I'm sure you're all as frustrated as I am with the loss to UAB. Getting outplayed is one thing, but blowing a lead in a game you control from the very beginning because you turn the damn ball over repeatedly and can't hit a freaking FREE THROW when the game's on the line is unacceptable. I know they're young and still growing as players, but I hope Floyd made them shoot a thousand free throws each before practice ended after that display of futility.
That being said, the ONLY consolation I can find is the fact that we were actually outplayed by ECU the week before but still got the W in the closing seconds. If Moore's long three had missed and we dropped that game, but then managed to hang on and beat UAB, then we'd still be sitting at 4-2. (That's the easiest way to swallow such a terrible loss.)
I still truly believe we should be sitting pretty at 6-0 if we had just pulled our heads out and beaten mediocre Tulsa and UAB like we were supposed to... but that's why they play the games.
We'll see what tonight and the rest of the season brings.
