Doc Sadler gets a promotion

Okay, somebody explain this one to me...

Doc Sadler was recently named Director of Basketball Operations at KANSAS.

Don't get me wrong, I like Doc a lot and I'm happy for him, but how does a guy who garnered his success at UTEP by playing with Billie Gillispie's players, and then only went a hair over .500 at Nebraska, get this prestigious a position?? Just doesn't add up to me...

Doc is well-liked in the coaching game. I'm surprised he would take a DOBO job, that tells you how much he loves coaching as well. I think he'll get a mid major job in the south in the next couple of years.
