Expansion candidates

As the alliance continues to develop at a snails pace, I have a harder time accepting being in Conference USA. UNT, FIU, and UTSA are rumored to be leading candidates. In the MWC, Utah St and San Jose St are rumored too. I'm sorry, but 4 of those 5 "suck". I would only look forward to playing Utah St in basketball. UTEP needs to do whatever it can to leave CUSA! We can schedule Rice and Tulsa in the non-conference.

I do not want to be in a conference with FIU or Middle Tenn St. We belong in the west. The MWC should add us, with Utah St and NMSU. I hope to see it, but I think NMSU will get shafted.

Why not binks? They have a good basketball program and would give us the flexibility for better non-conference scheduling. I would love for UTEP to play NMSU in the final regular season football and basketball game each year.

We have yet to run out of dates for quality OOC games as is. No need to free up more. I prefer to keep NMSUx under our thumb and in a conference below us.
