Hadn't heard a word about this. The media around here is horrible at keeping up with this kind of stuff.
Don't know how I feel about this if it's true... Campbell impressed me a few times this year as limited as his minutes usually were. Hate to see him leave before he really had a chance to make an impact. I hope we've got someone even better coming in...
Thanks for the post, MM. We'll have to keep an eye on this.

We need one more player named Moore or Washburn and we can start a full house.
HA! I crack myself up.

Looks like Mike Perez is transferring too.

Jeez, this doesn't thrill me... when/how did you hear about Perez?
I know Floyd's MO is to over-recruit and weed out whomever he doesn't need, but that's one of our upper classmen leaving. Was Perez no longer part of the plan? How many more guys are gonna bail on us here??

Guess not Strelz. Wonder if he'll be able to get a contributor for next year. Probably should go after a transfer. Lots of them out there.

In case you guys hadn't heard, Perez is going to choose between Nevada, Penn St, and Purdue. Kinda surprising, I thought he would be choosing from the likes of Northern Arizona, Texas St, Western Illinois, etc. Good for him.

Damn... I've never seen a transfer from UTEP go to an even bigger program.

Well, I guess thats up to interpretation. Moultrie transferred to Mississippi St and I would say they are a bigger program than us. They play in the SEC and made a Final Four in the late 90s. Also, Eric Moreland nows plays at Oregon St. He was on our roster during the 09-10 season and left when Barbee went to Auburn. I would also consider Oregon St a bigger program too, but definitely not better.
Other than those two, I can't think of anybody else that left to a bigger program. If Perez chooses Nevada, I would not consider them a bigger program.

Oh, I completely forgot about Moultrie... still so pissed that he punked on us that I guess I've deleted him from the memory banks.
Never heard of Moreland... I guess I was so worried about the coaching change I didn't pay any attention to what recruits Barbee Doll had lined up before he left.
I still find it hard to believe that Perez got offers from the schools he did (except for Nevada, which I agree is a lateral move at best). I mean, he's a pretty solid shooting guard, but those types of players are a dime a dozen....

I just hope the team is decent this year. We have a ton of talent! There is no reason we shouldn't make the big dance this year. That should be the expectation every year.

The bball team should be much improved, but will lack experience again. Anything less than the NIT will be a failure. I would hope UTEP will be in a position to be an NCAA contender ever year. Going 12 years without an appearance is unacceptable and once every 4 years is close to being unacceptable too. CUSA is a weak league and we should be 1-3 in the standings every year.

I think we are going to rack up too many OOC losses to be able to get an at large bid. We might gel in the conference tourney. This year's team is going from super young to just young. We shouldn't get ahead of ourselves just yet.

I agree, Binks. We have a murderously difficult ooc schedule, which will hopefully make us better and allow us to at least contend for the top spot in the newly suckified C-USA. Hopefully with a few upsets, a good conference record, and an improved RPI, we can at least be on the radar for the Dance and maybe go NIT. I'm excited, but not gonna get too greedy just yet.

This will be the last year of the regular sucky CUSA, the 13-14 season is when all the garbage comes in.
