UTEP opens up the DiamondHead vs Clemson. Clemson plays at home against Alabama St tomorrow. They are currently 5-4. Have wins over Gardner-Webb, The Citadel, Furman, Iowa, and Winthrop. Their losses have come to the College of Charleston, Coastal Carolina, South Carolina, and Arizona. Clemson is an ACC, but traveling a lot further than the Miners. They way the Miners are playing, I think they have a good chance to pull the "upset"

The winner/loser of this game will play Kansas St or Southern Illinois. Kansas St is currently 7-1 and SIU is 2-5. Other teams in the tournament are Tony Barbee's Auburn Tigers (6-1), Hawai'i (4-4), Long Beach St (4-5) and Xavier (8-0).

UTEP plays KSt at 3pm today on ESPNU. Also, Auburn won last night and if we both win or loss today, then we will play tomorrow.

Everything else in this tournament is just icing on the cake. I am so happy with the effort and improvement in yesterday's game. No Moore. No Vint. No Washburn. Yet we beat an ACC school. I don't even care if they are rebuilding. They are supposed to have access to more resources than us. Go Miners!

Miners beat Auburn and finish in 3rd place. Wins over BCS schools Clemson and AU. The team looks to br playing better. Hope they can beat Colorado St and Jax St or UAPB. I think we have an outside shot at the NIT.

Hey guys! Merry belated Christmas to you all! I was in San Antonio visiting family for the holidays, and missed the K-State game, but I saw the other two and was impressed as hell at how much these players have matured and bought into Floyd's plans. There is just no way these kids should be playing as well as they are ALREADY, and I am freakin' ecstatic about our future!!

I don't know if we'll sneak into the post-season, since C-USA is pretty darn good this year, but I have no doubt that in the next 2-3 years we'll be the team nobody wants to get in the first round of the NCAA's.

Awesome effort in the tournament, and beating Barbee Doll for third place was almost as sweet as the nmsu victory. WAY TO GO, GUYS!!

Only one beef I have... After the game, Barbee told the media that he couldn't understand why his team played so poorly, and that he expected so much more from them. In my humble opinion, his team played very well; we just played better. And, as I've said all along, Barbee is an amazing recruiter and a pathetic game coach. Coaching beats talent most of the time, and that's what happened in this case. It didn't sound good for him to give the Miners NO credit for the win, and instead blame his team for not playing well. Them grapes a bit on the tart side, Barbee Doll?

lol, it's a Memphis thing. When we broke their streak, and beat them in the regular season last season, it was because they played badly, not because we beat them.
