Comes as no surprise. Boise St, San Diego St, UCF, SMU, and Houston will join. Big blow to CUSA, MWC, and UTEP. Whats the point in staying with Rice and Tulsa? Even if CUSA added UNT and UTSA, do we really want to be with those schools more than UNM & UNLV?
If we would have stayed in the WAC, who knows where we would be right now. Now Stull spent money to join CUSA and what have we got out of it? A CUSA without SMU & Houston is just as bad as an MWC without Boise and SDSU (and possibly AFA).
Oh well.

Like you, I am not too thrilled with losing SMU and Houston. I think moving to the MWC might be better though.

Moving to the MWC may not be option. Being paired up with MWC schools in the new Alliance conference may be inevitable.

Guess we will have to wait and see what happens. If a merger happens, I'm okay with that, but not thrilled. If MWC and CUSA remain totally seperate leagues, I would like us to join the MWC. I don't see Rice and Tulsa helping our football recruiting any. Sucks to see UH and SMU leave. Any Miner fan that says otherwise is a dumbass.

I'll miss watching UTEP play Houston in football... I just loved seeing those 124-138 final scores. Seriously, though, this is a huge loss for the conference. I don't even bother speculating what will happen anymore. This realignment crap is frying my brain.

We'll see what happens guys. I hope its sooner than later. I also hope that MWCUSA leaves the WAC alone.
