Not sure what to think...
Utep had to go into OT to beat Stony Brook... to me it looked like Lamaison was the 2nd coming of Joe Montana as he practically willed Utep to victory with his arm... This guy is a WINNER !!
That is my heart speaking.
My BRAIN tells me a Division 1 school with 85 scholarships trailed a FCS school with 65 scholarships for most of the game... and just squeaked by because we physically wore them down.
Or did Stony Brook tire themselves out after gaining 299 yards in the first half??
Last Week, New Mexico State was on ESPN's Bottom 10 list.
This week they are beaming with pride after beating Minnesota 28-21 while their coach suffered what appeared to be an epileptic seizure that stopped the final minute of the game for 20 minutes while Minnesota was attempting to tie the game.
So what do I think about this week??
Not sure.
Without Lamaison and possibly missing Utep's best defensive player Germard Reed (neck injury)... things definitely don't look too good.
Our defense is full of holes in the first half... we have no running game.... our offensive line is, well, offensive... we have a new QB (Jay Hall) expected to fill in for Lamaison.
I was semi-confident of a win... but now I just smell blood and I think it belongs to Utep.
This game plays in Las Cruces... so I definitely have to give them the edge.
We'll see... Realm

I agree. Think the Ags will come out with a close victory. At least with NMSU winning vs Minnesota, there should be a good crowd.

Not much to like about that last game, but I was impressed with Jay Hall. He really didn't look like a true freshman out there, and short of the end zone strip he played very well.
The Aggies will definitely win this one, but I can't say if it will be close or not. After their upset and our meltdown, it could get ugly in their house...

NMSU had under 15,000 for their opener vs Ohio. Does anybody think there will be a lot of UTEP fans at the game. It will be interesting to see the attendance numbers.
