Anthony January 6'7" 196lb. SF from Woodland Hills, CA William Howard Taft High School class of 2012
Gave Tim Floyd a verbal agreement to come to UTEP. Rated a 3-star recruit by Scout.com and ESPN. Looks like a good future prospect... assuming he doesn't bail on us when the big names court him during his senior year.

I agree Bleed... things are always tenuous until the player finally arrives on campus at the start of the school year.
I Googled January and saw his list of colleges: Cal, Arizona, USC and UCLA. All schools in the PAC.
His choices indicate a preference to playing in a league where he'll be seen by friends and family. I can't blame him.
I'm glad he gave Utep his verbal... but that doesn't count for much.
What does count is that his dad played for Utep back in 88-99...
Coach Floyd does seem to have a strong recruiting connection with the California area and I think our chances are excellent that we will be keeping Anthony January.
I'll keep the faith...

Cool highlight video, Realm! But seeing what this kid can do at 6'7" makes me even more awed at Randy C's thunder dunks at under 6'...
I'm still not holding out hope that he comes here. He'll probably sign with UCLA when it comes time to commit. Hate to be pessimistic, but if he continues to get better, they'll go after a hometown kid with everything they have.
