I don't disagree that we belong on this list of the twelve worst teams in the nation, but I do question where they placed us; we did go to a bowl game (even if it was a shitty one and we got our asses handed to us) and I believe we'll be better than NMSU next year. I'd switch our 6 ranking with the aggies' 8 and that sounds about right.
Jeez... I can't believe I'm arguing over where we were placed on the List of Losers.... pathetic no matter how you look at it....

Miners wont be anywhere near the bottom 12... What makes you think so shy? We could barely win 6 games with Vittatoe at qb and Buckram at rb. Without those players and still a crappy defense why would we not be bottom 12 material?

What makes you think they will be bottom 12?
Vittatoe was hurt for half the season, Buckram was also hurt for the majority of the season.
The defense showed signs of improvement, and they will be better this season as well.
The running game is not bad at all with the group of guy's the Miners have returning. The O-Line may struggle early, but as long as they stay healthy that is a positive from last season with so many injuries.
Now I am not gonna say the Miners are gonna be conference champs or anything, but bottom 12? I can see NMSU and UNM, but the Miners will be right there in the mix for 5-7 wins. It wont be easy, and something tells me this might be Price's last season.
Let's see what happens.

But if you look at it that way, then our shitty season last year (which was a result of not having Vittatoe and/or Buckram a lot of the time) is a preview of what we will have this season now that we don't have them at all... We have a total question mark at QB, no clear-cut #1 RB, and we lost our best receiver. The defense is a lost cause. Price is not a good motivator, as his teams consistently play WORSE as the season progresses and the games mean more. And we haven't been building for the future since we can't seem to recruit anyone worth a salt. Hell, I just read an article that said that Zoey Williams, a 3-4 star CB from Sugarland TX and one of our prized recruits, broke a verbal agreement with UTEP to sign with freakin' New Mexico who is absolutely putrid!!! That says it all right there.
I hate to say it, but there's not a damn thing that makes me remotely optimistic about this season.

I think 4 wins is pushing it...we may just get 3 wins...price needs to go before the season even starts

Don't get me wrong, shy, I hope and pray you're right and we're wrong. But I have a feeling we're gonna suck hard.

I know on paper it looks really bad, everyone has pretty much picked UTEP last in the west. Yet, I seem to think that the Miners will be alright, I think alot depends on how the QB handles his duties as a leader... We'll learn alot early on against SMU.
