The reigning NBA champions looked like they didn't want to play and bowed to Dallas 4-1.
Reminds me of Utep a year ago when they didn't look like they wanted to play against Houston in the Cusa Basketball championship because of in-team bickering.
Really nothing you can do at this point.

Ran into my brother at one of the clubs in San Diego and since he lives in L.A.... I asked him what happened to the Lakers bid for a 3 Peat!!
He had some interesting things to tell me that I had not heard before so I thought I would pass them on... because some of it you may not have heard either.
First, he reminded me that the 1980s Legacy of the Detroit Pistons couldn't be contested on the court. Off the court was a different matter because rumor has it that the Pistons were derailed by a woman. Supposedly Vinny Johnson was boning the wife/girlfriend of Dennis Rodman. When the details came out, it created a rift between players on the team causing a noticeable decrease in team chemistry.
Detroit never exhibited the same intensity on the court again and soon the team underwent personnel changes... but they never regained the talent level that they needed to win the championship.
2nd he reminded me that in the 1990s, the Dallas Mavericks had one of the more talented backcourts in the NBA with Jason Kidd and Jimmy Jackson. Jason had to be traded away because team chemistry was going down the toilet when both Kidd and Jackson were rumored to be dating the same woman... singer Toni Braxton. The story goes that Braxton came to a hotel that the Mavericks were staying at to pick up Kidd for a date, but left with Jackson. Kidd demanded a trade in an attempt to get away from Jackson and was shipped out to the Phoenix Suns.
Two players labeled untouchable by the Mavericks... were done in by a woman.

The Phoenix Suns didn't make the playoff this year after looking like they were a shoo in to make it before the NBA All Star game. They simply tanked in the 2nd half of the season and the inconsistent play of Steve Nash is a big reason why.
Nash and his wife of 5 years, Alejandra Amarilla, have 2 kids and welcomed their 3rd in Nov 2010... the next day after the birth, Steve Nash filed papers for dissolution of the marriage. Rumor is that the father is former Suns player Jason Richardson who was abruptly traded away to Orlando in December soon after the baby's birth.
In April, Nash went public and demanded the Suns trade him to another team. Once again, behind most successful meltdowns... is a woman.

Why in the name of Zeus's butthole would Toni Braxton go out with Jason Kidd??? Dude can play, but not the most devastatingly handsome guy in the league.... I'm just sayin'......

BLeed... 20 years ago --- I could occasionally hear the word "guapo" as a descriptor... now "geezer" seems to be heard more often.
It comes with age.... (sigh)... I seem to get around it, though, by picking up the tab.

Ummmmm.... Jeanie Buss? The team's Executive VP and owner's daughter dating the team's geriatric coach couldn't NOT be a distraction... (BTW, love your commercials, Realm.)
