My bracket was totally busted two weeks ago, but I have to admit, I vastly underestimated Butler. I really thought last year was a bit of a lucky run after an outstanding season for them (hell, WE looked like we could beat them) and thought they'd fizzle.... guess not! I just felt bad for VCU after the remarkable run they had. It would have been so cool to see them in the other bracket, and actually have a championship game between an 8 and an 11 seed!
While watching all the pre-game shows, I kept on thinking of how amazing it would have been if our Miners had been able to put together a magical run to the Final Four. I know it wouldn't have happened, but damn, I'd give just about anything to see them do that well again.
My dream scenario goes something like this: Tim Floyd works his recruiting and coaching magic, and five years from now, in the year 2016, the 50th anniversary of the Texas Western championship, he leads the Miners to their second national championship when they defeat.... Calipari's Kentucky Wildcats. How freakin' AWESOME would that be??
*Sigh* Ah well, we can always dream....

UCONN has been a basketball powerhouse for awhile now.
Last year's Cinderella team was, of course, Butler with Gordon Hayward leading the charge.
When he left for the pros, I didn't see anyone on the team that could carry this team.
Wrong Again...
This year has been a very interesting and pleasant surprise AND I'll be pulling for Butler tonight.
