I saw a couple of posts that concerned me, particularly Realm's statement that "without Bo" the rebounding got tougher... is he going somewhere? I've been out of town for a week and need to be caught up...

First let me apologize... been smoking Herb all this weekend.
I read MinerMan’s assessment of how this game would turn out so I decided to dress appropriately for this STINKER of a game.
Didn't help much. Awful game from the Get-Go… I was expecting more since New Mexico lost their best player… But it was Utep who looked uninspired and lackluster.
First, the team looked completely disjointed in their offense. Couldn’t get anything going. A record number of traveling calls, poor passing, poor Free Throw percentage, bad defense, turnovers galore.
Bo was a big part of this with his losing the ball one way or another and then he took a BAD shot away from the basket. A time out was called and Assistant coach Foster was chewing out Bo when Bo had enough and pushed Foster away and got in Foster’s face and let loose with some F bombs.
Coach Floyd sat Bo down for the rest of the game.
After the game, Bo tweeted that he wanted to stay because he was learning so much and was playing for the best coaches in the nation.
Is this enough to keep him at Utep?? I hope it is because he has put in a lot of work to be the best he can be.
Has an official decision been made?? Nope. Coach Floyd has not made any official statement to the effect of kicking Bo off the team. Just a quote in the E.P. Times that this kind of behavior will not be allowed to happen again.
I think the young man can learn from his mistake... and there is a lot of upside to keeping him around.
That's my take... anyone else care to chime in??

Other board reporting KVIA & KNBC both confirming Bo is no longer a Miner.

I've combed the internet and can't find a thing saying Bo has left the team... can somebody post a link confirming this if you find anything? If our tallest player has indeed left the team, we are S-C-R-E-W-E-D inside next year....

have not found any evidence anywhere that bo is leaving. I think if moutre and character had stayed they would have red-shirted him

have not found any evidence anywhere that bo is leaving. I think if moutre and character had stayed they would have red-shirted him If he stays, I think his playing time this season will prove to be far more valuable than an additional year of eligibility. But yeah, if DC was here, Bo would have red shirted.

I tend to agree with that assumption. That brings up another "what if," that being: would Bo have been mature enough to understand why he was being red-shirted, or would he have gotten pissed off and transferred because he felt slighted... things that make you go hmmmmm....
On another note, I finally got around to watching the Memphis game, which I recorded before I left on spring break. I wish I hadn't. Even though it was already two weeks old, and UTEP's season has been over for a few days, watching that game made me want to cry. I cannot believe how well they played for 39 minutes and 50 seconds... only to see it evaporate in a heartbeat. It was kind of surreal; I was watching the very end, and when Memphis's center missed those two free throws and we pulled down the rebound, I actually felt for a split second that we might have won the game (yeah, that sounds ridiculous since I already knew the outcome, but that's truly how I felt).
As for the end of the game... Was there contact on the play when we were up by one and Julyan drove in and missed that layup? Perhaps. It was our building, so something could have been called. Was their contact on the ensuing drive that put Memphis to the line with a chance to win? Perhaps. Funny how that one WAS called, again in our building. Finally, the ultimate heartbreak... when we came down on that last possession with one more chance to win it, I saw something that made me want to pull my hair out. When Randy drove the lane, Gabe McCulley did exactly what he should have and charged the hoop on the other side, and Randy delivered a perfect pass that would have been either a game-winning dunk, or at the very least, a probable foul and trip to the line. Instead, Gabe isn't looking for the pass, and the ball glances off his hands..... and that was the game right there.
I don't know what possessed me to watch that damn game, but in hindsight I wish I hadn't. It only took ten little seconds for a dreamlike end to the season to turn into a freaking nightmare.
