Great, UTEP and CMP might have an opportunity to play a 13th game. Here's the downside: If UTEP finished 6-6 (highly likely) and the lose their bowl game (highly likely), they will STILL finish with a losing record at 6-7.
Furthermore, UTEP will get a lot of bad publicity and how there are too many bowl games. A team that lost 5 out of its last 6 games, from a horrible conference, and beat 1 solid team, gets to be in a bowl game. Hopefully UTEP does not embarrass themselves in the New Orleans Bowl, like we all know they will.
