You'll recall the offer was made earlier in the week... then rescinded... then offered again.
Rumor has it that the MWC was trying to offer the open slot to one of the BIG 12 teams... who wasn't that enamored with the offer.
So nice to be wanted... then put on the shelf... then told how wonderful you are AGAIN.

Pathetic. I wouldn't be totally against UTEP dropping to FCS or dropping football all together. 3 winning seasons this past decade, ZERO the decade before, 2 the decade before that. Why even bother with it? Mike Price was a national coach of the year and he can't even get the job done in a weak-ass conference!
