That's the sound of CUSA in the post season. 0-4 NIT & NCAA record. Unless its the old Calipari-led Memphis teams, CUSA is just embarrassing. VCU, Butler and now Norfolk St and Lehigh have NCAA wins and bigger wins too. UTEP can't beat Duke in the regular season, let alone in the post season.
Folks, its time to stop accepting mediocrity and demand more from the Miners. I'm not saying Floyd needs to be fired, but he's gotta get us to the NCAAs and win a fucking game. 20 years! If Norfolk fucking State can beat a 2 seed in the tourney, we should be able to pull one out.

Coach Floyd has little to nothing to do with anything in your post. CUSA going 0-4 has nothing to do with Coach Floyd.
Sure, UTEP had a pretty fair chance to make it to the dance in Coach Floyd's first year. Technically it was a senior laden team. It is convenient that most forget that DC wasn't on that team. The 18 years prior to that season have nothing to do with Coach Floyd.
It would have been nice to make it to the post season this year. It wasn't very likely. It is obvious why.
We have a coach that is going to stick around awhile. It probably won't be next year but we will be winning NCAA Tourney games soon enough.

You're right Binks, going 0fer and the previous 18 years having nothing to do with Floyd, only UTEP. Thats my point, CUSA sucks and we cant win it on a regular basis, not to mention the conference continuously fails on a national level.
Come on, Norfolk St and Lehigh can win NCAA tournament games, why can't the Miners? Butler and VCU can make the Final Four, why can't the Miners? If we are in a better conference and have better facilities, why do we always come up short? I am tired of it and I expect more. I don't think asking for ONE tournament win in 20 years is asking too much.

You can obviously ask for anything you want. I just don't think it is Coach Floyd's cross to bear. Not within the next two years at least.

This may not have anything to do with it, but maybe these other teams (Lehigh, VCU) are catching the big boys totally off guard. If you played for Duke, would you honestly go into that game thinking of anything other than a 20+ point blowout win to springboard you into the next round?
We may not have had the success we're all clamoring for in a long, long time, but I still think other teams see us coming. We're not exactly a household name in college basketball, but UTEP definitely has some tradition that carries a bit of respect (I'm talking about other teams, mind you, not the idiots who choose the brackets or vote on rankings). It's harder for us to "sneak up" on teams than if we were a Lehigh squad expected to play the sacrificial lamb for big, bad Duke.
I have faith in Floyd that he will have us back in the Dance with a great chance to win a game or two in the next couple of years. We'll see...
Just my thoughts.
