The UTEP game vs. Memphis will be televised in Hi-Def on Fox Sports Southwest at 11 AM tomorrow-- DirecTV Ch. 676, Time Warner Ch. 1304 (I think).
I hope the Miners have a good showing, but I can't dredge up enough confidence in them to actually believe we will win this one. Hope I'm wrong!

Yeah, not counting on a Miner victory either. Hopefully they can keep it close. Memphis is definitely beatable.

Unbelieveable win, especially (as Steve Yellen pointed out in the post-game) since this wasn't a senior-laden team fighting for the top spot in the conference, but a bunch of underclassmen still finding their way.
We are gonna be scary good in the next few years.
BTW, I was away from home yesterday, and my @*($&^% DirecTV box did not record the first half of the game for some unknown reason, so all I got to see was the second half. Any chance one of you could get me a copy of the whole game? Just wondering...

Sorry BO, I watched the game live and didnt record it expecting a blow out and during commercials I flipped to UNLV vs UNM, so I couldnt rewind it. Check your guide and see if a replay is gonna play. Fox Sports reruns a lot of their games.

I scrolled through and did a title search, but I don't get any of the channels that are showing a replay of the game. DirecTV freakin' SUCKS when it comes to that-- I've been recording every replay I find, and when I go back and try to watch the recording, THEN it says "you aren't subscribed to this channel." Gee, thanks for telling me that AFTER I RECORD SOMETHING.
Anyway, if there's any way you can find and record a replay of the game, and dump it onto dvd or even vhs, I'd be in your debt.
Side note on the Memphis game... major kudos to assistant coach Johnson, who apparently led all the team practices leading up to the game while Tim Floyd was back home with his ailing mother (get well soon, Ms. Floyd!!!). That is a GREAT sign when an assistant can prep such a young team to perform so well in a big game like that. I see a potential replacement right there when CTF finally decides to hang it up (which I hope isn't for a long while, but still).

I hope Coach Floyd goes at least 5 to 10 years. Again, hope. Coach Johnson is the obvious replacement. UTEP usually goes with an assistant and he has obviously been groomed to take the spot. I would love to see him go 10 years as our head coach when the time comes. I wonder if Johnson will groom Foster the way Floyd has groomed him. We could have our coaching staff in place for the next 30 years.

I dont know Binks. Phil Johnson doesnt seem like a great hire by any means. He didn't do anything at San Jose St. Unless its an up and coming assistant or a proven coach, I don't they're a good basketball hire here.

I checked the gamefinder Dishnetwork.com has and it has UTEP vs Memphis on Sportssouth at 11am. I get that channel. I'll record it and see what happens. I'll let you know tomorrow night. |

He did keep the machine operating while Coach Floyd was away all week. Coach Johnson was a great hire. |

I'm not sure what Johnson's track record has been thus far, but I like what I've seen and heard from him while he's been here. At this point, I'd have no problem with him being groomed for the job.
