This is just a pipedream and super unlikely to happen, but what if the Big 12 goes away and the Pac 12 does not expand? Say Missouri goes to the SEC and KU, KSU, and ISU go to the Big East. You have UT, Texas Tech, Baylor, Oklahoma, Ok St looking for a league. Why not add UTEP, Rice, Houston, SMU, and Tulsa? Gives you 10 teams and a regional league. Want a championship football game? Add the two New Mexico schools. Gives you 12 teams within 3 states and a nice setup. The Longhorn Network would have a ton of programming. I know it would never happen, but would love to see that league happen.

Damn that woud be cool. We'd get our asses handed to us (in football, anyway) but it would be worth it. The Texas Athletic Conference...

I really wonder what our relationship is with UT-Austin. They absolutely did not have to give us a home game. They could have easily paid us off and murder us a couple of times in Austin. I know they are the Big Bad but I wonder if we could ever have a future with them. It may work in our favor that they would probably smear SMU, TCU, Rice, and UH into the ground. Who knowS?
