Houston will be hosting the Texas Longhorns in the CBI. Coach Johnson said on the postgame show of the USM game that UTEP will decline the CBI or CIT. Really? We have some young players would could use the game experience, why would they turn it down? If Houston can host UT, I'm sure we could do just as well.
Should the university decline the CBI, a long explanation is due. Looking at the probable NIT teams, I don't think UTEP has a chance in hell of making it. Should find out in the next 3 hours or so.

Coach Floyd felt no obligations to specifically address the USC rumors. I doubt he will go into great detail about why he decline a CIT and CBI invite. I do know that he visiting a recruit tonight and he is not in El Paso.
Could it possibly be that UTEP knows Floyd is leaving and they didn't accept because of that?
Never say never but I doubt it. He has turned down too many jobs. He has too many blue chippers coming in. He is getting up there in age. He has property in parts of the county he actually likes. I don't see it.
