sports.espn.go.com/ncb/rankingsUTEP at UAB on Saturday. Should be a good game. Does anybody remember the last time UTEP even received votes in either poll???

Yeah it was the year went to the NCAA tournament under Doc Sadler. We were about to enter but we lost to Fresno St on a buzzer beater.

Nice to see you Stahala... been reading your posts for awhile on Joe's blog.
Yep, I remember that game with Fresno up in Save Mart arean... I believe it snapped Utep's 10 or 11 game winning streak. I'm surprised that it was Sadler because I thought it was Gillispie at the helm. You sure about this??
Utep needs to win this Saturday against UAB... if they don't then they are 0-4 against top 25 ranked teams(Tx Tech, Mississippi and BYU).
UAB is the start of an interesting 3 game series with Houston & Tulsa that should go a long way in pinpointing where Utep fits in on the Cusa hierarchy.
